Using the Ustream.tv platform, the “Women Respond to Palin Webathon” incorporated social media and web video tools such as a real-time live chat room, video-sharing with friends via email and social sharing sites (Digg, del.icio.us, etc.) and, for Bloggers, the ability to host the Webathon on their blog by embedding the live video on their site. It was an unprecedented new media event for a social cause. I was the technical director for the event. Women Respond to Palin
Blattcave Productions produces the monthly live stream for the New York City branch of Social Media Breakfast using the Livestream platform. The Social Media Breakfast was founded by Bryan Person in August 2007 as an event where social media experts and newbies alike come together to eat, meet, share, and learn. Marketers, PR pros, entrepreneurs, bloggers, podcasters, new-media fanatics, and online social networkers are all welcome to attend.
